After graduating from Stafford High School, I will be attending the University of Virginia in the fall to study Economics. While in high school, I ran Varsity Cross Country and Track, and I was President of National Honor Society. I plan on continuing to be an active member of my community in Charlottesville.
I went to Mountain View High School. I will be attending Dartmouth College in the fall. I started a communal organization called Knitting For A Cause where I knitted scarves, hats, mittens, and gloves with my peers. We sold the items for $10 each , and donated to the Salvation Army. I will be majoring in Biophysics and minoring in Bioengineering. So I can examine ways to mitigate World Hunger and research the long term effect of GMOs so that we can make informed decisions on human consumption.
My name is Lucas Johnson. To many, that name means that I am a dedicated swimmer, devoted member of Ebenezer Church, recent graduate of Colonial Forge high school, and future varsity swimmer at Duke university. However, I wish to be known for more than my accomplishments. I love serving my community through mission trips and service opportunities. I enjoy not only being involved in my team and performing for myself but also as a leader to my fellow swimmers. I am honored to be involved in the academic community at a high school so prestigious and filled with amazing students that I have learned to call my friends. All of my life has led up to my departure in a few months, and all of my high school experiences have formed my character and disposition that molds my future; a future that I am honored to pursue at Duke Biomedical engineering. I am humbled by the opportunity I have worked for and my goal to one day pursue an Olympic career in swimming and my further studies at medical school.
