“After spending an early June morning at school with Gwyneth, I could never have imagined a short while after arriving I’d be called to the track by her friends to see my 12-year-old daughter laying helpless in a ditch. When I saw her alone with no pulse, I immediately started Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR). When the AED arrived, I followed the directions and shocked my daughter twice. She finally regained a pulse.” – Joel Griffin, Gwyneth’s Father
Gwyneth, like so many other people, would conceivably be alive today if she had received CPR immediately and had quick access to an AED. Unfortunately, Gwyneth suffered a devastating and unrecoverable anoxic brain injury due to the length of time before she received CPR. Seven weeks later, just after her 13th birthday, Gwyneth passed away.
